Tetra Hes Infusion is one of the most widely used substances used as plasma expander.

But lately it has been found that Tetra Hes Infusion has a greater threat and risk of poor outcome in compared to other colloidal solutions. It can causes reactions like hypersensitivity, influenza, disturbances in coagulation, renal failure.

Tetra Hes Infusion should not be used if one is hypersensitive and allergic to hydroxyethyl starch. Also patients with intracranial bleeding, renal dysfunctions, liver diseases should keep away from this.

In its newer field of usage Tetra Hes Infusion is also used in preserving frozen cells or tissues.
