About Tossex Xp Syrup
This syrup is a combination medication containing Ambroxol, Guaifenesin and Terbutaline. It is a systemically active mucolytic agent along with expectorant and bronchodilator. It works by relaxing the bronchial muscles, breaking down the structure of mucus in the lungs and therefore facilitating expectoration. Works by treating acute and chronic respiratory diseases accompanied by elevated mucus production.
You should not take this syrup if you are allergic to it. In case, if you are breastfeeding, if you ever had Stevens-Johnson syndrome, or if you are 12 years old or younger, don't take this syrup. This medicine may cause the following side effects like

How does this medication work?
This medication is an agent that causes diffusion of thick mucus. Uncontrolled quantity of nitric oxide (NO) is related to inflammation and other kinds of disruptions of the functioning of the airways. Tossex inhibits the activation of guanylate cyclase which is nitric oxide-dependent. Also causes stimulation via beta-adrenergic receptors of the intracellular adenyl cyclase. The intracellular adenyl cyclase enzyme causes conversion of adenosine triphosphate into adenosine monophosphate and reduces adhesiveness and surface tension of congealed mucous in the upper respiratory tract to increase the flow of mucous, stimulating and increasing efficiency of the cilia to remove the accumulated mucous.
