About Tribet 2 Tablet

This medication is used to treat patients suffering from type 2 Diabetes. Patients who cant control blood sugar levels through diet and exercise alone. Hence this drug is used to enhance the positive effects of diet and exercise with respect to blood sugar. Also, it is used in combination with other antidiabetic medicines.

It is a type of sulfonylurea antidiabetic medicine, that helps the pancreas in releasing insulin. Thus helps in reducing the blood sugar level. It belongs to a class of drugs known as sulfonylureas along with Thiazolidinediones and Biguanide, in combination. Before starting a course of the medication, there are certain precautions that need to be taken. Any form of allergy must be mentioned to the consulting doctor.

This medication might cause certain side effects as well. The common side effects arising due to the intake of this medication are anxiety, irritability, sweating, dizziness, headache, fatigue, weakness, etc. Generally, these side effects are mild and go away on their own after a few days.

    This medication lowers blood glucose by stimulating the release of insulin from pancreatic beta cells. Also, it activates peroxisome proliferator activator receptor causing an increase in the production of components that break down lipids and glucose in the body. It increases insulin response without effecting its secretion. Lastly, decreases glucose production in the liver, decreases intestinal absorption of glucose, and improves insulin sensitivity by increasing bodies glucose uptake and utilization.
