About Tripinom 40mg/5mg Tablet

This medication is composed of Olmesartan and Amlodipine. It is an angiosen 2 receptor blocker (ARB) used to lower high blood pressure. The drug works by helping the blood vessels to relax, thus facilitating easy movement of blood. Take this medicine as directed by your physician.

It is advised to avoid this drug if –

  • You are pregnant.
  • You are hypersensitive to any of the ingredients in the drug
  • You are currently taking medicines that has aliskiren as one of the ingredients.

    How does this medication work?

    The drug displaces angiotensin II with very high affinity from its binding site at the AT1 receptor subtype, which is responsible for the known actions of angiotensin II. It works by inhibiting the entry of calcium into the cardiac and vascular smooth muscles and prevents the contraction of the muscles and thereby reduces the blood pressure.
