About Tropicamide

Tropicamide is a drug used to help in the treatment of eyes, by initiating the dilation of pupils. It especially assists in the examination of the back portion of the eyes. It helps to paralyse certain muscles of the eyes for some specific diagnosis of the vitreous humour, lens or retina. It also helps to relax the muscles and help in the widening of the pupils, a process known as mydriasis. The eye drop may also be used after surgery of the eye.

Tropicamide cannot be administered to you if you are allergic to any of the ingredients which compose the drug or if you are a patient of glaucoma. Precautionary measures must also be taken in case you are on any other dietary supplements or prescription drugs.
