About Troymag 50% W/V Injection
Troymag 50% W/V Injection is administered as a dietary supplement to patients who suffer from low magnesium levels in the blood and to pregnant women suffering from eclampsia or pre-eclampsia leading to seizures. It is also used in the treatment of cardiac arrhythmia, constipation and nephritis in children. Troymag 50% W/V Injection may also be administered in cases of severe asthma attacks, barium poisoning and in regulating very low blood pressure.
Troymag 50% W/V Injection works as a cathartic, anticonvulsant and electrolyte replenisher that acts by inhibiting the release of acetylcholine at the myoneural junction. This leads to inhibition of peripheral neuromuscular transmission and decreases striated muscle contractions. The magnesium ions in Troymag 50% W/V Injection also block the influx of Calcium ions through the dihydropyridine-sensitive, voltage-dependent channels which results in its muscle relaxant action.
