About Tusq Dx Syrup

Tusq Dx Syrup is a combination drug that is employed in the treatment of dry cough. It works by relieving symptoms such as watery eyes, runny nose, sneezing, throat irritation, and congestion.

    How does this medication work?

    This medicine is a combination of three drugs: Phenylephrine, Chlorpheniramine Maleate and Detromethorphan Hydrobromide. Phenylephrine is a decongestant, which works by narrowing the small blood vessels providing relief from stuffiness and congestion in the nose. Chlorpheniramine Maleate is a first-generation antihistamine, which is used to prevent the allergic symptoms from conditions such as urticaria and rhinitis. This drug binds to the histamine H1 receptor, which prevents the action from endogenous histamine. Detromethorphan Hydrobromide is a cough suppressant, that works by reducing the activity of cough centre in the brain, hence relieves cough.
