About Tyrodin Cream
Tyrodin Cream is prescribed to stop heavy bleeding. It works as an antifibrinolytic and thus stops the blood clots from disintegrating very fast, which in turn reduces bleeding.
It is prescribed for short-term use (2 - 8 days) in hemophilia patients, during and following tooth extraction. This helps in the reduction or prevention of haemorrhage. It is also used as an alternative to aminocaproic acid for subarachnoid hemorrhage (SAH).
Patients are generally discouraged from taking Tyrodin Cream if they have/are:
- Allergic to any component present in the drug
- A problem of blood clots that are present in the brain, eye, or lungs.
- Bleeding because of a kidney problem or brain problem.
- Experience irregular bleeding but its reason has not yet been determined
- Currently on birth control, like the pill or even the vaginal ring. This is primarily because such birth controls contains estrogen as well as progestin.

- Clcr <10 mL/minute: Administer 10% of normal dose or 10 mg/kg/dose every 48 hours I.V. or 15 mg/kg/dose every 48 hours orally.
