VALPARIN

Valparin is the brand at which this drug containing Valporic Acid or Sodium Valporate is sold and the indications for which the drug is recommended include migraine attacks and manic episodes. Basically it is an anticonvulsant drug and epilepsy patients are also treated with Valparin. Those with active liver issues should not consume the drug. Some of the known side effects include hematological disorder and pancreatitis.

My nephew aged 11 years, has seizure since last month. Doctors diagnosed it epilepsy. We started medicines but seizures occurs on every 2 & 3 days. Mostly during seizure his eyes goes upward and his body has vibrates as electric shocks. Once after seizure his body shocked many times. We asked him what is this. He said my nerves are jaults from inside. We want to know is it epilepsy or not. What should we do at the time of seizures. Eagerly waiting for your reply. At this time he is taking 2 medicines named valparin 200 & levecitram. Thanks.

The description provided by suggests that your nephew has epileptic seizures; however, one point - when he says my nerves are jaults from inside' make this sound false. My father is 68 years old n he has been suffering from epilepsy for last 20 yrs. Recently he has been showing many symptoms of epilepsy like not responding anything. Not able to express n body imbalance. We consulted his regular neurologist n he advised valparin 300 mg tab to be taken with other regular AED like Epsolin 100 mg 4 tab a day n phenobarbitone 60mg in morning n 90mg at night. Please advise.

He is getting good medicines and amy intractable epilepsy and you can ask doctor if any newer drugs can be used for him based on his condition

I have a child. She is suffering from generalized seizure since last six years. Now she takes 5ml valparin twice a day and clonazepam 0.25 once a day and cereflo four ml twice a day. Seizure stopped last one year. But language problem can not develop.

Seizures are a condition wherein the nerves are very excitable. Triggered by certain factors. Medication include those that decrease excitability. Some anti epileptic drugs like valparin result in weight gain. If the child is seizure free for more than 2 years you can stop the drugs by gradually tapering.

I am 31 years old male having valprin tablets for about 6 years. Will these pills make an effect on concentration, memory or brings more angry because these days I feel all these symptoms from past 1 year approx. I have 1 pill every day.

Are you suffering from epilepsy or bipolar disorder? why are you taking valparin tablets & in what dose? in right dose, valparin tablets do not affect memory, concentration or cause anger. I have brain seizure started after an accident at night six years back. My treatment is going on in deen dayal hospital. I take three eptoin at night & valparin 500 mg in morning and evening. I receive strokes sometimes during sleep even after taking medicine s. I have memory loss also & lack of understanding.

Well their is no true drugs for cerebral atrophy. These drugs you mentioned are tonics with no definite action on brain.

Sir/madam my son aged 12 yrs is suffering from fits since his age of 6 months we were using sodium valprate syrup for 3 yrs. We stopped as the symptums dis appeared for six months later attacked again, doctor advised valparin tab we used it 4 yrs then stopped using it after 6 months repeated the fits. Again doctor advised oxitol 150 mg tab twice and frisium 5 tab once a day. We r using regularly recently fits are attacking frequently. Doctor sugested to doublr the dose. On doctor's advice obtained eeg and mri. It is noticed that in eeg (abnormal eeg record suggestive of right centro parietal epileptogenic focus). In mri (closed lip schizencephaly of the right central sulcus with dysplastic grey matter lining the cleft on either side) is there parmenent cure in allowpathy. Are there any side effects by using these medicines for long time kindly reply.

If seizures are not getting controlled with medication you can go for epilepsy surgery. Get opinion for it in a good institute where epilepsy surgery is done.
