VELTAM

Veltam is a drug prescribed for treatment of disorders of the bladder and prostate. Tamsulosin is the generic name of the drug. Vetlam works on the relaxing of the bladder muscles helping with improvement in urination. A few of the known side effects are cough, back pain and dizziness and feeling sleepy. One of the contraindications is severe hepatic impairment.

My wife aged 47 yrs is suffering from urinary problem since last 5 years. She has acute pain and problem in urination and flow is very less. She has desire to urinate but cannot. The ultrasound report reveals that post urine void is very high. She has two issues with normal delivery and no medical past history. She consulted one doctor (urologist). The doctor said that her urinary tube is got strictured often. The doctor has done urethral dilatation 8-10 times which resulted only temporary relief for 2-3 months but the problem is still sustained rather increased. We are worried and want to get permanent relief from this urological problem. Is there any treatment for this problem at your end. Kindly advise and help us.

Dear,
yes she has bladder outflow obstruction but I doubt stricture. In my opinion she must have bladder neck obstruction. To confirm it please post scan report along with pictures here. Meanwhile make sure she has not constipation and anal fissure because that can give you same symptoms. While you do that you can try tab. Veltam o. 4 mg at bedtime and drink more fluids.

Age is 23. Had testicle pain. Dr. Suggested veltam 0.2 in morning and veltam 0.4 in night. Semen volume got reduced. Had taking medicine for 1 month. Pain had gone but from 8-10 days my sexual libido has reduced and there is difficulty in maintain erection. Had stop taking veltam from 6-7 days. Semen volume is normal but reduced libido and unable to keep erection is worrying me as it has never happened before. Please help.

Hai I am 33 years old male I am passing renal stone my doctor prescribed me Veltam (0.4mg) and tramadol infant one of the stone is in urinary area however after taking the prescription I am unable to ejaculate the vary next night (dry orgasm) I am worried.

Hi. Please don't worry. Dry ejaculations are effect of veltam. They will get back to normal after you stop the medicine.

I am 76 years of age, having retired as Class I Gazetted Oficer from Ministry of Defence in 1996. Two years ago I lost my life partner in a sudden demise.I am a patient of Dilated Cardio Myopathy, Diabetic Type 2 Mellitus, having two stones each in both the kidneys, having arthritus in both the knees. I lose breath after walking a few yards or after tension due to any reason. I don't feel any appetite, rather suffer from constipation on having minimum bite at Lunch or Dinner. Obviously I wish to die in a working condition and without abnormal sufferings. Would you like to help me by way of suggesting adverse effect free medicines as I have already undergone various tests during the last 10-14 years. You may also suggest to me hasselfree treatment. I am taking Lenoxin (1/2 tablet OD, Lasix, Veltam 0.4, Monotrte 10 (BD), Zyloric 100, Dytor 10, Telma 20, Vitcoffel and Alprax (0.25 mg for andiety). I have tried to give all the relevant information about my condition. I will be grateful for pragmatic advice.

Please get your electrolytes done. you might be having a sodium drop. dytor and telma may be the reason of sodium drop. the drop in sodium may be the reason of depression

Dear ,
as you are in prostatic age group your trouble is more likely to be due to benign or senile enlargement of prostate. Just check urine for infection and if it is normal try veltam 0.4 mg at night. It should help you. If not then you need sono
graphy with full bladder volume, bladder wall thickness and post-void residual urine.

My father copd 90 yrs. Have feet swelling. He is on medince 1. Stator 10, 2. Eltroxin 25, 3 esam 5, 4. Unicontin 400, 5. Cardace 5, 6 montair 10,(7) clopitab 75,(8) becadexamin (9) veltam 0.4. He is also taking two eye drops-dorzox & lumigan. He is fit walks daily. My question is why his feets are swelling, is it due to medicine or any other reason. Please State & confirm & suggest. Bp 130/80.

Feet swelling can be due to cor pulmonale or tab esam. Your father medicine for copd is not as per protocol. Tab montair has no role in copd. Try tiomate 200 2 puff once/day with spacer for copd. Other medicine he can continue. Can take diuretics for feet swelling.

I'm 76 years old person. Ultrasound of abdomen has revealed prostate enlargement with urine retention of nearly 22 ml. I am put on tablets veltam 0.4 mg. Since last year. But the urgency and frequency of passing urine persists. Am I put on correct medicine or some other medicines are recommended for my prostatic problem. At this advanced age I am scared of undergoing surgery. Please advise. I will be thankful.

Please repeat an ultrasound to see present status. Medicine is correct and surgery is safe in a good centre.

I am 56 years old male and I have been suffering from urinary tract infection since 1989 (at the age of thirty years) with symptoms burn and pain in urine discharge fever and excessive vomiting. Presently I am 56 year old. Since then this problem repeats itself after three / two / one year or six months. Presently my prostate gland is enlarged by grade 2. Earlier in 2004 ultrasound R.G.U, I.V.P and endoscopy was done and reports were normal. I want to know. -- reason of this repeated U.T.I problem when i've already been medicines like VELTAM 0.4 since 2012 , -- Whether the operation of prostate gland can be permanent relief of U.T.I as this problem is being repeated from an early age and being repeated very often now.

Please do culture and sensitivity test of urine and take proper treatment meanwhile take tab pyridium 15 1 1 1 cap pepcia d 5
1 on empty stomach syp chandnasav 15 ml 3 times a day with water urine will turn red colored with these medicines so please don't worry.
