About Vitexid P 750Mcg/75Mg Capsule
This medicine is a combination of methylcobalamin along with pregabalin in combination. Methylcobalamin or in general term Vitamin B-12. It is one of the most important nutrients required in the human body and is the active constituent in this medication. A lack of this vitamin can cause severe and permanent neurological damage. The other active constituent is Pregalin, which is an anticonvulsant and is considered to be the first-line of treatment for neurotic pain, shingles, seizures and fibromyalgia. It is used for the treatment of diabetic nerve pain, epilepsy, spinal cord injury, restless leg syndrome and generalised anxiety disorder. It works by binding to a certain region of the brain and reducing the pain signals sent out by the damaged nerves of the body.
It plays a key role in the functioning of the Brain and Nervous system and in the formation of the Red Blood Cells, other than this, it is responsible for the protection and regeneration of Neurons. Lack of this vitamin causes depression (the reasons not clear why). The drug comes into use when you have low levels of Vitamin B12 in your body, which causes you to Feel Weak, Fatigued and experience slow thinking. This condition is called Pernicious Anaemia. Low level of Folic Acid and Vitamin B12 go hand in hand. This is an active form of Vitamin B12 which is easier for the body to absorb. Though found naturally in meat, fish, eggs and dairy products. How does this medication work?
Vitexid P 750Mcg/75Mg Capsule acts as a cofactor for enzyme methionine synthase, which transfers methyl groups for the regeneration of methionine from homocysteine. In anemia, it increases blood cell production by promoting nucleic acid synthesis in the bone marrow and by promoting maturation and division of erythrocytes. It also binds to the voltage-gated calcium channels in the central nervous system. This causes a reduced release of neurotransmitters like serotonin, dopamine, substance P thus slowing down nerve signals.
