About Voglimac Gm 2 Tablet

This medication is composed of Glimepiride, Metformin and Voglibose. It is used for treating patients suffering from type 2 Diabetes, who can't control blood sugar levels through diet and exercise. The medicine is a type of sulfonylurea antidiabetic medicine, that helps the pancreas in releasing insulin thus helping reduce the blood sugar level.

Before starting the course of medication, there are certain precautions that need to be taken. Firstly, any form of allergy must be mentioned to the consulting doctor. Also, if you have any history of kidney or liver diseases, it should be mentioned to the doctor as well. Limit the intake of alcohol during medication. Exercise caution if you are pregnant women or breastfeeding mother.

    The drug lowers the blood glucose by stimulating the release of insulin from pancreatic beta cells. It decreases glucose production in the liver, decreases intestinal absorption of glucose, and improves insulin sensitivity by increasing bodies glucose uptake and utilization. The medicine selectively inhibits α-glucosidase in the intestinal wall, delaying the digestion and absorption of carbohydrates, thereby preventing a sudden rise in blood glucose levels after food.
