About Vymada 50 Mg Tablet

Vymada 50 Mg Tablet is helpful in treating essential hypertension. It may have an advantage over losartan due to minimal metabolism requirements and consequent use in mild to moderate hepatic impairment.

This medication is combination of an anti-hypertensive drugs composed of Sacubitril and Valsartan. It is used for treatment and prevention of chronic heart failure and other heart conditions. The tablet works by inhibiting a prodrug neprilysin which reduces the strain on the failing heart.

Consult your doctor if you experience any side-effects such as low blood pressure, swelling in ankles and feet, feeling short of breath, fainting, dizziness and high blood potassium levels. Some other rare side effects include muscle weakness, painful urination, little or no urination, tingly feeling, slow heart rate, weak pulse, cough and renal impairment.

You should not use this medicine if you are allergic to it or if you have ever had a severe allergic reaction to any blood pressure medication. Patients suffering from diabetes, liver disease or a kidney disease should exercise caution.

Take exactly as directed; do not discontinue without consulting prescriber. Take first dose at bedtime. This drug does not eliminate need for diet or exercise regimen as recommended by prescriber.

    How does this medication work?

    This medicine blocks the enzyme neprilysin, which leads to the degeneration of atrial and brain natriuretic peptide. When these peptides remain excessively active the blood pressure is reduced, as the blood volume is lowered. It also brings about inhibition of combination to angiotensin II to AT1 selectively. This occurs within many tissues such as adrenal glands and smooth vascular muscles.

      • Interaction with Alcohol

        Consumption of alcohol is not advisable.
      • Interaction with Medicine

        • Lithium: Risk of toxicity may be increased by valsartan; monitor lithium levels.
        • Potassium-sparing diuretics (amiloride, potassium, spironolactone, triamterene): Increased risk of hyperkalemia.
        • Potassium supplements may increase the risk of hyperkalemia.
        • Trimethoprim (high dose) may increase the risk of hyperkalemia.
      • Interaction with Food

        If you are allergic to any food, please consult with the physician.
      • Interaction with Disease

        Avoid use a smaller dose in patients who are volume depleted; correct depletion first. Deterioration in renal function can occur with initiation. Use with caution in unilateral renal artery stenosis and pre-existing renal insufficiency; significant aortic/mitral stenosis. Use caution in patients with severe renal impairment or significant hepatic dysfunction.
