ZOCON

Zocon is an antifungal agent prescribed for pneumonia, meningitis, fungal infections of the kidneys, throat, mouth, liver, heart and urinary tract and vaginal infections. It is available in the form of a tablet. Side effects may include constipation, nausea, vomiting, headache, and dizziness.

Uses

Fluconazole treats fungal infections of the mouth, throat and food pipe, abdomen, lungs, blood, female genital infections (like vaginal candidiasis) and other organs. Fluconazole also treats fungal infection of the membranes covering the brain and spinal cord (cryptococcal meningitis/fungal meningitis).

Side Effects

Breathing difficulties, abdominal and stomach pain, unusual bleeding or bruising, blistering, peeling of skin, extreme tiredness, yellowing of eye or skin, diarrhea, dizziness, seizure, lack of energy, allergic reactions like swelling of face, nausea, vomiting, pain in upper part of the abdomen, loss of appetite, allergic reactions like rash, change in taste, heartburn, hives and itching, dark urine, headache, flu like symptoms

Expert Advice

Discontinue the usage of fluconazole and consult your doctor if you are pregnant or unsure to be pregnant or are breastfeeding. Avoid this drug if you have penile sores, ulcers or blisters or if you have an abnormal penile discharge or if you have pain on passing urine or if your penis has started to smell. If the symptoms don’t get relieved within a week then consult your doctor. Avoid consumption of alcohol when you are on the treatment. If you are on birth pills, this drug can make it ineffective so consider using some another method along the pills when you are on the course.

How it works?

Fluconazole belongs to triazoles class of antifungals and prevents the growth of fungi. It interacts with chemicals inside the fungus and stops the synthesis of an essential component of fungal cell membrane called ergosterol which results in leakage of cellular contents from fungal cell, ultimately killing the fungi.

Hi I am 24 year Male. I have itch on my inner thigh from last 7-8 months, initially I have used a cream quadridrem by which I feel relief for the short time when I use. Then after consulting from a doctor I advised to take Tablet Tyza 250 mg for 20 days with the zocon powder application. During the time I really feel relax and also the skin area become clean. But now again its a roufgh brownish skin makes itch. Could you please suggest what should I do?

Stop using quadriderm, it may be recurrence, take anti fungal tablets for 1month along with anti fungal cream, take bath twice daily, reduce wearing inner wear except at office or college.
