About Zolmist 5Mg Nasal Spray

Zolmist 5Mg Nasal Spray is a selective serotonin 5-HT1 receptor agonist and is a synthetic tryptamine derivative. Used for treating headaches due to migraine attacks (with or without aura), not meant for the preventive remedy of migraine or for hemiplegic or basilar migraine. Relieves migraines by narrowing blood vessels within the brain.

Zolmist 5Mg Nasal Spray is marketed as swallowable tablets, nasal sprays or oral disintegrating tablets with a dose of 2.5 and 5mg. Patients getting migraines from aspartame are not advised to take the disintegrating tablets containing aspartame. There is no noteworthy effect on the effectiveness of Zolmist 5Mg Nasal Spray due to food intake in both males and females.

Side effects include myocardial infarction, chest pain, dyspepsia, dysphagia, vertigo, myasthenia, somnolence, hypesthesia, paresthesia, myalgia, sweating and others.

Zolmist 5Mg Nasal Spray should not be taken by patients who are allergic to any of its ingredients, suffering from phenylketonuria or any other type of irregular heartbeat, coronary artery disease, ischemic heart disease, other cardiac disorders, brain blood vessel disease, high blood pressure or any other blood vessel problems. Besides this, it is also not recommended for persons undergoing ergot type medication, sibutramine or a monoamine oxidase inhibitor (within the previous 14 days).
