About Montemac-Fx Tablet
Montemac-Fx Tablet is an anti-histamine and anti-asthmatic medicine. It is used to relieve the symptoms of allergic rhinitis. It consists of 2 active ingredients- Fexofenadine (120 mg) and Montelukast (10 mg). Fexofenadine is a selective peripheral H1 blocker that blocks the action of histamine and reduces symptoms like runny nose, watery eyes and sneezing due to allergies.
It is a second-generation anti-histamine that is less able to pass the blood-brain barrier and thus, causes less sedation in the patient. Montelukast is an anti-allergic and anti-asthmatic drug that is a leukotriene antagonist. It blocks the effects of a chemical messenger called leukotriene that reduces swelling in the respiratory tract. So, both these drugs work better as a combination to treat symptoms of allergic rhinitis; it makes breathing easier.
Montemac-Fx Tablet is not recommended to treat patients less than 15 years of age. The recommended dosage is 60 mg twice daily or 180 mg once per day for adults. You can take it with or without food. Do not stop the medicine without completing the treatment course.
