A thin tube, usually made of plastic, is inserted into the body for performing various operations. This tube is known as a catheter. The Culture and Sensitivity Catheter Test involves a catheter tube with a pointed tip which is inserted into the infected area for collecting the sample of the wound. Once the specimen for the study has been collected, the catheter is removed. A 5 cm portion of it is cut off and sent for testing. This test is very useful in identifying diseases and critical health conditions caused due to bacteria, fungi, and other microorganisms. The test identifies the presence of such organisms.
