My daughter is 19 months old. She is suffering from persistent diarrhoea of 7 to 10 days. She has been recommended ZnD, Zeedott, Benegut, Pedialyte. Worried about my little one as her intakes are very less. Urine output is also low. Though she is active but fussy about eating. Concerned about management of situation. Meaning of persistent diarrhoea is different for doctor than parents. If you have mentioned about No. motions in a day, quantity of stool, consistency, either with more water or feces, containing mucus and / or blood. related with dietic habbit. it would have been easy to suggest. Any way, if her wt is about 11 kg, you need not to worry. Give her food of her choice and sufficient quantity of water to drink insist forcing ors etc.

Hi, my daughter is 2 years old, she is not taking any food except mother's milk from last 5-6 days. From last three days she is having nausea and vomit in her sleep and only in midnight and after vomit she sleeps well. She were fine in day time and there was no any other symptoms like fever, cry etc. Yesterday my doctor suggested to have syp ondem 5 ml twice a day & syp ranidom pd 2 ml twice a day for five days. We gave this to her last night and today morning and after this she took half chapati today in lunch but after that she developed loose motion 4 times til now still no other symptoms and fever. We also gave her iron syrup to her in the morning. What could be reason of night nausea and vomit? What should we give her for loose motion and this nausea? Should we continue the dose I mentioned above? Thanks in advance.

If having vomiting, stop iron for now. Give ors powder & zinc syp (5 ml od x 14 days) for loose stool. Syp ondem is to be given thrice daily. If still confused, pm me.

Hello doctors. My daughter of 7 months old feeding on lactogen recover and rice cereal is having loose stool from past three days and today she has passed stool 6 times. I want to know if it is because of teething or what to feed her now? Lactogen recover was prescribed by her doctor last month because she had an infection and had bloody stool and told to keep feeding lactogen recover after that.

Hello. Teething has no correlation with loose stool. You can give him ors solution & z & d drops 1 ml od for 14 days.

Why to worry about 2 to 3 times per day watery motion? Loose stools or diarrhoea in a simple language means to change in frequency and consistency of your son’s stool frequency and consistency than routine. First, our worry should be only not to lose too much water from our child so ensure first adequate hydration don’t jump to medicines if not required really. Second, he is 8 months and if is he breast feeding than beat to ensure good enough breastfeeding first. And if possible than give light complementary diet like khichadi/rice with curd. Don’t worry about smell if your son has no other symptoms. Consult doctor if you find less urine frequency, vomiting which reduce oral intake and other symptoms like fever, blood or mucus in stool. Hi my son is 11 months, nd 7.5 kgs. He passes stool after every meal I give. The stool is normal nd I am giving him econorm once a day. He always puts his hands nd other things in mouth. Also he has got 6full teeth (4upper front nd two lower. What should I do. Do I give him any antibiotics. He is facing this stomach problem from last one week.

Don't give any medication. Probably has toddlers diarrhea. Stop fruit juice if you’re giving him any. Include banana and apple in diet.
