Is it ok to take supracal tablet after expiry date? Please suggests me something for that.
It is ok as it is true the effectiveness of a drug may decrease over time, but much of the original potency still remains even a decade after the expiration date. Excluding nitroglycerin, insulin, and liquid antibiotics, most medications are as long-lasting.

I'm a 40-year-old woman. I'm also hypothyroid at 75 mg thyronorm daily. I have no other health issues so far. My child is now 10 months born via c section. He is exclusively breast feeding and now moving on solids. My question: which supracal would be good for me to take? Pro or xt. I take a normal diet. Not very high in calcium. Thanks in advance.

Hello, Thanks for the query. Most important is the treatment of hypothyroidism is to maintain TSH around 3 to 4 mU/L, at which level all the symptoms are in control. As regards calcium supplement any tablet is as good as the other. Other aspect to be remembered is to take a healthy diet. Avoid soy beans and soy containing foods. Avoid pastries, bakery items, deep fried foods, foods made from maida. Increase the intake of green leafy vegetables, salads and fruits. Also avoid colas, alcohol and smoking. Plus there is a need for regular exercise for over 1 hour. If you have any questions please do come back. Thanks.

Dear lybrate-user, You may consider supracal or calcium supplement for your mother as per advise of your doctor. There is no contraindication from parkinsonism perspective unless she has contraindications underlying like for example calcium metabolism disorder etc.

My 64 year old mother takes calcium tablet supracal pro to maintain calcium level. She has no medical history. Do we have any homeopathy alternative for such medicine?

Yes do not give her too much calcium. You may use one amla in any form either myrabba or juice or crushed nd dried in sunlight with salt daily as one amla is full of 1500 mg. Calcium which is the requirement of our body in one day.
