Suffering from ring worm. Visited doctors many times applied ointment, soap etc taken itraconazole, fluconazole tablets as suggested. It repeats after a week or so after completion of the course, I have been a patient of it for last 7 years .please suggest.

Complete course of antifungal should be taken as directed by dermatologist not on n off along with precautions to be taken like avoid tight fitting clothes, keep the body dry as much as possible. Having underlying comorbities like diabetes is one the cause recalcitrant fungal infection. So kindly visit or revert back so that doctor can suggest you better.

Hi. Very often recurrence of the ringworm infection is seen due to irregular intake of medication. Oral itraconazole is usually need to take for continuous 1 month and topical cream for atleast 4 to 6 wks. Maintain hygiene, keep the area dry and clean. Use antifungal powder. Thanks.
