Hi Mr. Lybrate-user, I appreciate you seeking help for your father. Presumably, the present complaints especially diarrhea, vomiting, nausea etc all, as you describe, may possibly be due to the anti-tb medications that your father is currently on. It would have helped me understand correctly had you had explicitly mentioned the tb medicine names as well. However, for diarrhea/ dehydration, I would advise electrolytes (who recommended ones) to correct the condition. Simultaneously, you can also try apple & rice toast or our indian'kichhdi' (made of rice and dal spiced with litle bit of fresh turmeric, ginger, black pepper, oregano etc all) to control diarrhea, nausea etc all. Taking probiotics (containing'lactic acid bacilus' spores) daily also helps maintain gut health. For convenience and also ease of digestion, it is advisable that you feed him multiple small meals than three large ones. This will help prevent any kind of anorexia that he may likely develop in the said condition. As regards daily diet, whole wheat chapattis, steamed vegetable stew, fresh fruits including apple, grapes, pears, peaches, oranges, pineapple or any other seasonal juicy fruit can be taken on a daily basis. Custard apple, if available, is especially beneficial in this condition. Daily consumption of a tsp of fresh amla juice mixed with a tsp of honey also benefits. As and how he gets to do better and the symptoms as mentioned above are controlled, you can slowly introduce warm milk in the diet regimen too. Foods that he must avoid include bananas, white bread, white sugar, refined cereals, puddings, cakes, pastries, preserved & processed foods, any kind of oily, greasy foods including fast foods, coffee, tea, pickles, hot chutneys etc all. Hope this helps your father and wish he recovers soon. Take care and all the very best.

Anti TB medicine taken empty stomach can cause vomiting, even pot klor should not be taken empty stomach. Continue repeating LFT every week bc anti TB drugs can cause liver damage which can lead to vomiting.
