In which of these ways does your body benefit from breakfast?
1 of 5
When you sleep, your metabolism tends to slow down. If you skip breakfast, fat gets stored longer in your body as a result of slow metabolism. You tend to overeat in your next meal, which leads to a rise in the LDL (bad cholesterol) level. Skipping breakfast on a daily basis increases the incidence of heart diseases in men aged 45-82, along with other health scares such as hypertension, elevated blood sugar levels, etc.
Which of these should be on your morning platter every day?

A bowl of raspberries is very rich in fiber. Research shows that a healthy fiber intake every day prevents weight gain. Adding a tablespoon or two of peanut butter on your whole wheat toast can be a very healthy way to break your fast. If you are focused on losing weight without missing out on the nutrition, eggs can be wise options. They are rich in proteins, which contribute to weight loss and make you feel full for a long time.
If you want to skip a meal, dodge your dinner. That won't do much harm

This needs debunking right now. Try to never skip a meal. While it is true that your body metabolism tends to slow down at night, this should not be a deterrent to you having dinner. Try to have your dinner early, preferably within 7:30-8 pm and don't go to bed soon after having dinner. By doing so, you give your body enough time to not only absorb the food but also to convert that into energy.

Lunch can be more important for school children than adults. Since most kids don't get breakfast or snacks at school, and even have to wait till the evening to eat something, lunch assumes a greater role in providing your kids with the correct nutrition. Lunch assumes almost one third to one-half of a child's daily food intake.
