Makeup is full of chemical, no matter which brand you choose. Women who cannot think of heading out without makeup should realize that they are not treating their skin nicely. The makeup products used can cause significant damage to your skin, and when used regularly over a period of time, it can be really wreaking havoc. This can range from skin dryness to allergies to damage from poor skin care products. They would also notice dryness, roughness, and scaling of their skin. Choosing an expensive product does not mean that it is good. Try and test which products would work for you and then get them to regular use.

Whether it is rejection or allergies, the skin will turn red, become flaky, develop hives or bumps, and look raw. Dryness is the most common issue most people will face. Do not buy a makeup product just because it worked well for a friend. Each person's skin reacts differently, and so what worked for one person may not work for another. Test samples and only buy those which suit your skin. Use natural products as much as possible. To the extent possible, try going to sleep without any makeup on. This will give the skin adequate breathing time and get its share of oxygen. Use plain petroleum jelly and cotton wipes to remove all makeup, especially around the eyes. Wash nicely with a mild soap and let your skin breathe.

What is expected is judicious use of makeup. Remember that makeup is there for a reason; however, do not overuse and only use products which suit your skin. As much as possible, use natural products. These could also contain minerals and sun protective agents, which further protect the skin. If your skin turns red with a new product, stop using and get tested for allergies.

Prudent use of makeup can help avoid skin damage. While it is perfectly okay to use slightly heavy makeup for special occasions, daily makeup can be kept to a minimum. This not only reduces damage to the skin, but also is easy to sustain. Using adequate cleansers on the skin, giving it adequate time to breathe, using natural products, and going to bed after removing all makeup are effective ways to reduce skin damage. Use fruit peels and natural products like honey, milk cream, and lime on the face for their cleansing and bleaching effects.
