What do Dermal Fillers help to do?
1 of 5
With increasing age, the subcutaneous fat in our faces is gradually lost. With the loss of these fat layers, the facial muscles would be working closer to the skin surface. This makes smile lines and crow's feet to be much more apparent. The facial volume is also lost owing to the stretching facial skin. The other factors that affect the skin are excessive exposure to the sun, heredity, and lifestyle of the person. You should avoid Aspirin and NSAIDs.
What else can dermal fillers do?
2 of 5
Dermal fillers will be very effective in certain groups of people, mostly in those with early signs of aging. They can also help people undergoing facial rejuvenation surgery by acting as a value-added part. Apart from all the above usage, they improve the appearance any recessed scar or even reconstruct any deformities that might be present in the face. They can also decrease or remove the shadow of the lower lids. You should avoid wine and alcohol.
Dermal fillers might not be a good approach in cases requiring a surgical rejuvenation technique.
3 of 5
Nonsurgical Rejuvenation techniques, like the addition of soft tissue fillers, might not be the best approach for people requiring a facelift, brow lift or even an eye lift. They may help delay the consideration of a facelift, but can never help to achieve the same results. It is to be understood that dermal fillers can only help as temporary treatments for facial aging. Other permanent measures might be required for long term results. Herbal supplements, green tea, and Vitamin E should also be avoided.
Dermal fillers bring no associated risks.
4 of 5
Dermal fillers carry the chance of some risks, though severe complications are quite uncommon. The risks vary with the specific filler substance used, along with its relative permanence. The abnormalities may include asymmetry, bruising, swelling or bleeding from the injection site or acne-like skin eruptions. There can also be skin rash or redness with itching. There could be lumps or infection at the injection site. Or there could be some damage to the skin that would ultimately result in a wound with possible scarring. You can use icing on the injected area.
The procedure will take up a lot of time to recover.
5 of 5
Though the recovery time varies for each patient and the type of filler that has been injected, normal activities can be resumed immediately. However, strenuous physical exercises are advised to be avoided for the first 1 or 2 days. This would minimize bruises and swelling. You should, however, remember to discuss your recovery, before scheduling injection appointments with your physician. You can use sun protection, but avoid anti-bruising supplements.
