Rice or Roti - Which Is Better?

The soluble fibers in roti helps in digestion which makes them a very healthy Indian dish. Rotis made from wheat are very healthy, but you should avoid eating rotis made from "bajra" on a regular basis and especially during summers, since they can make you dehydrated. Another important reason why you should include them in your diet is because the vitamin E and selenium in chapattis help lower chances of cancer.

Chapattis are rich in carbohydrates and excess intake of chapattis can boost your blood sugar levels. Increased blood sugar levels lead to diabetes. Consuming a large number of chapattis on a regular basis can put you at the risk of other diseases as well such as hypertension and cancer.

Rice and wheat are high carb foods, which on digestion converts into glucose. These foods should be eaten at night so that after digestion (it takes about two hours to digest), the glucose converts into energy. On the contrary, these foods should be avoided during the day when the glucose absorbed into your blood gets converted into fats.
