The first and foremost way of being relaxed is to check your breathing. Breathe just like you do while doing weight-lifting. Inhale deeply. What it does is that it engages all your senses in that memory and you feel like completely in a different world. It may not make you numb to the pain but will certainly reduce your awareness towards it. You can also think about the places you want to visit or anything that means happiness to you. You dwell on the memories of time spent with your loved ones.

Epidural is a locally-acting anesthetic that performs the function of blocking the nerves that carry the labor pain. It is given using a very fine tube generally in the lower back portion. It provides relief from the pain completely. But do not fret about it as it will make you tense and no matter what you do during labor, getting tensed would be the last option. Ask for an epidural if you really need it or if the doctor recommends it don t say no.
