For an average person who weighs 160 pounds, his body would take two hours to metabolize a 14 gram serving of alcohol. If you have had 14 grams of alcohol in a serving, then wait for a couple of hours before you start driving back home.

Alcohol is found in beer, wine, sherries, liqueurs, ports and homebrews. The proportion of alcohol may vary in all these liquids, but the ratio may affect your overall health and well-being if you consume alcohol in huge amounts. When you consume excess alcohol, your brain slows down and the liver is unable to break the alcohol in the body. Check the proportion of the alcohol in your drink and then make up your mind if you really want to consume it.
