Cryolipolysis works by
1 of 5
Cryolipolysis is also known as cool sculpting or fat freezing. Dieting helps reduce the size of cellulite cells but does not help get rid of fat completely. On the other hand, cryolipolysis helps get rid of cellulite permanently. This is a non-invasive procedure that relies on controlled temperature to freeze localised fat deposits. As these deposits freeze, they are broken up into smaller pieces and can be eliminated from the body. This can take a few weeks but does not damage any of the surrounding tissue or the skin.
A massage can help reduce cellulite
2 of 5
A massage can increase blood flow to an area and thus help reduce the accumulation of fluid. A mechanical massage that specifically attacks cellulite is known as a lipo massage or endermologie. This type of massage is performed by a machine that has two spin rollers with low-pressure suction that kneads your body and breaks up connective tissue beneath the skin. This can make your skin look firmer temporarily, but has no long term effects. A massage can also help rid the body of toxins and excessive fluid that may accumulate in the area. Alternatively, you could try massaging your skin with cellulite reducing topical creams.

Fat deposits under the skin are also known as cellulite. This can make your skin appear lumpy. Women have a higher risk of developing cellulite as compared to men but thin people have the same risk of developing cellulite as heavier people. Cellulite typically appears on the thighs, buttocks and abdomen. It can be brought on by a number of factors including an unhealthy diet, slow metabolism, hormonal fluctuations, lack of exercise and dehydration. It also shows up more on the light skin more than it does on dark skin tones.
Liposuction can be used to get rid of cellulite
4 of 5
Liposuction involves making a small incision and inserting a narrow tube into the body to suck out the fat and reshape the body. It can be used to remove fat deposits from the abdomen and thighs but is not recommended for cellulite treatment.
Drinking more water can help reduce cellulite
5 of 5
Water is necessary to stay hydrated and keeps the skin healthy, but has no effect on cellulite. However, not drinking enough water can interfere with the digestion process and lead to excessive fat deposits being created. However, this is not the same as cellulite. Drinking too much water can also cause water retention that makes you feel bloated. Similarly, dieting does not help reduce cellulite either.
