Esoga-RD Capsule SR

Esoga RD Capsule is indicated for treating GERD (Gastro-esophageal reflux disease), which not responds to Rabeprazole medications alone. It prevents the tendency of vomiting and nausea in people suffering from gastrointestinal problems.

Esoga RD SR is a combination of Domperidone and Rabeprazole. The active ingredients, Domperidone and Rabeprazole fall under the class of dopamine antagonist and PPI (Proton pump inhibitor), respectively.

Esoga RD Capsule is also prescribed to the patients of peptic ulcer and who take certain medicines for Parkinson’s disease. The medicine tightens the muscles near the entrance of the stomach and relaxes the ones present at the exit.

The action of Esoga RD Capsule helps to speed up the passing of the food that you intake - from your stomach to your intestine, reducing the feeling of nausea and sickness, also preventing vomiting.

Esoga RD medicine also works by blocking or reducing the stimulation in the ‘vomiting centre’ of your brain, which will eventually reduce the feeling of nausea and vomiting. The possible side effects of taking this medication can be headache, migraine, dryness of the mouth or breast pain.

You are advised not to take Esoga-RD Capsule SR if you have the following conditions:

• An allergy to Esoga-RD Capsule SR or any other ingredient of this medicine
• Bleeding problems or blockage in your stomach or in the intestine
• Tumour in the pituitary gland
• Cardiac disease
• Incorrect levels of magnesium, potassium or calcium in the blood
• Severe/moderate liver impairment

• Is It safe with alcohol?

  Taking a large amount of alcohol can increase acidity and cause acid reflux in the food pipe causing heartburn. This would decrease the effect of this drug and can aggravate your underlying condition.

  Esoga RD Capsule is extremely unsafe to be used during pregnancy. Studies carried out on humans and animals have shown significant adverse effects on the fetus. Doctor consultation is recommended in such cases.

• Are there any breast-feeding warnings?

  Esoga RD Cap is probably unsafe to use during lactation. Limited human data suggest that the drug could represent a significant risk to the baby.

• Is it safe to drive while on this medicine?

  This medication may make you feel dizzy, sleepy, tired, or decrease alertness. If this happens, do not drive.

• Does this affect kidney function?

  This medication should be used with caution in patients with kidney disease. Dose adjustment of this medication may be needed. Please consult your doctor.

  This medication should be used with caution in patients with liver disease. Dose adjustment of this medication may be needed. Please consult your doctor. Use of this medication is not recommended in patients with moderate and severe liver disease.

  Skip the missed dose and resume with the next scheduled dose at the right time. The dose should not get doubled in an attempt to make up for the missed dose.

This medication attaches to the dopaminergic receptors without causing any release of the chemical dopamine. It, in turn, facilitates gastric emptying and decreases small bowel transit time. Also, it binds to H+/K+-exchanging ATPase in gastric parietal cells, resulting in blockage of acid secretion.

Whenever you take more than one medicine, or mix it with certain foods or beverages, you"re at risk of a drug interaction.

  The patients taking this medicine have been reported for false results, as it interacts with investigations of Neuroendocrine Tumors, Secretin Stimulation Test, Urine Tests for THC. Thus an alternative confirmatory test should be considered to verify the results.

  Concomitant use of Antiretrovirals, warfarin, methotrexate, digoxin, Drugs Dependent on Gastric pH for Absorption (e.g., iron salts, erlotinib, dasatinib, nilotinib, mycophenolate mofetil, ketoconazole, itraconazole), tacrolimus, antiarrhythmics, apomorphine, protease inhibitors, systemic azole antifungals, some macrolides (erythromycin, clarithromycin and telithromycin) is contraindicated.
