5 Benefits Of Oil Pulling
Oil pulling has gained popularity in the recent years. This technique has been mentioned in Ayurvedic texts under Dinacharya (set of activities done daily to keep a person healthy).
What is oil Pulling
It is a cost effective way to get rid of harmful bacteria from the oral cavity. After waking up in the morning use about 10 ml of oil and swish it around your mouth for about 15-20 minutes and spit it out. Avoid swallowing the oil as you will be swallowing the bacteria along with it. Brush and clean your tongue after oil pulling.
When you swish oil in your mouth it percolates into your gums and periodontal pockets and pulls out all the harmful bacteria from your mouth.
Which oil should I use?
Sesame oil or coconut oil can be used for oil pulling.
