Acne - How To Get Rid Of Them?
Hi,
I am Dr. Neeharika Manchanda, Dermatologist. Today I will talk about acne. It is a very common problem and mostly seen in adolescents. It can occur in any age because of hormonal changes. It causes acute stress as they are more concerned about their appearance. If it is not treated on time, then it might lead you to pigmentation, scars. This is divided into different grades. It also lead you to cyst. Other common causes are stress, hormones. It is commonly occurring in ladies and in PCOS patients. Now we will talk about that how do we treat acne. Certain treatments are available for acne are peels and lasers.
Few medicines are also available to get rid of acne and few procedures are also there as I already told you peels and laser. Peels decrease the inflammation around the acne. Basically they help in opening the pores. Lasers like IPL laser. What are the common myths associated with acne. There is debate going on whether the food is related in increase of your acne or not. So, it is found that high glycemic foods increase the acne. If you are having lots of chocolates, sweets, fried foods might lead to acne but only in excess quantity. Always have all those things in moderation. So, the advice I can give you is to use mild cleanser which does not lead you to skin irritation. Do not use creamy based products or lotions on your face. You should not pop or prick them up as they will lead you to permanent scarring.
Always use a gel-based moisturizer. If you are using make-up then you should have the habit of clearing make-up daily. Then patients are working about scars and pigmentation so various treatments are available for these also. Apply sunscreen so that old acne cannot leave the scars. We give the treatment with lasers. Each and every treatment depends on your skin type. Keep in your mind that scars never go away completely but they just improves. And at the time of the treatment it requires multiple sessions. So, consult a Dr and keep all the tips I have given in your mind.
Thank You.
