Acne
Hello everyone!
I am Dr. Abhinav Singh, Dermatologist. So today we are going to talk about Acne, also known as Pimples. This is a very common skin problem that has affected almost everyone in their life. Earlier it was thought that it is a problem of teenagers but nowadays we are seeing in almost every age group. It may be due to environment or lifestyle changes that we are experiencing. There are certain do's and don'ts for patients of acne. Always use a gentle and mild cleanser to clean your face. Avoid cosmetics that are comedogenic. Always look for products which are non-comedogenic.
Avoid food which is high in glycemic index like chocolates, candies and do not squeeze, pick or constantly touch your acne. Otherwise, it may lead to severe scarring. At our clinic for the treatment, we divide acne into grades- like mild, moderate, severe and refractory. For mild grade acne, we give creams like Clindamycin, Benzoyl peroxide, Oxalic Acid. For moderate acne, we also use peels as a treatment like Salicylic Acid peels and Jessner's peel in addition to creams. For severe acne, we give tablets or capsules in the form of Isotretinoin, Doxycycline, Azithromycin and for refractory acne, we also have hormonal treatment like Cyproterone Acetate, Spironolactone etc.
For the acne scars, we also use conventional treatment like dermarolling, subcision with PRP technique, TCS application and we also use cutting edge technologies like Fractional CO2 laser and Microneedling radio frequency. For your treatment either you can consult me on Lybrate or you can book an appointment.
Thank you!
