It can be said that there is almost no person who recalls his or her time with acne as a time that was memorable to him or her. As a matter of fact, there may even be the presence of daily reminders by the way of acne scars. That being said, that really need not be the case as those scars can be got rid of!

In order to understand how these unfortunate scars can be done away with, it can be said to be important to understand why exactly they exist in the first place. When clogged pores of the skin swell up, what results is a break in the wall of a skin follicle. When the skin tries to repair itself after an acne attack, the attempts can lead to scarring.

There are two general categories of acne scars. In layman’s language, one is called a depressed scar and the other is called a keloid scar. The former type of scar develops when a small amount of tissue is lost which leads to a minor depression in the skin. The latter is caused when there is an amount of collagen that is produced by the body which is in excess of the amount that is required by it. The effect this has is to cause a mild bump.

Now, we all want to know that how we can get rid of them. A person who is interested in giving his or her self-confidence a boost can do it by the way of dermal fillers being use for the removal of acne scars.

  1. One of the many great things about making use of dermal fillers is the fact they can boast of a pretty high degree of safety. As long as proper precaution is taken in terms of cleaning the area to reduce the chance of infection, anything untoward should not happen under the watch of a qualified and experienced dermatologist.
  2. There is no downtime at all if a person makes use of dermal fillers. All he or she needs to do is to make sure that there is no consumption of alcohol for a little more than a day after the process is complete. In addition to this, for the same period, exercise is to be avoided.
  3. Fractional laser treatment works, too, but has a longer time of treatment and multiple sessions would be required. However, the skin can look quite younger consequently.
