All About Designer Labiaplasty!
Labiaplasty is a process through which the skin outside the vaginal opening, called labia minora, is reduced. This process is commonly called designer labiaplasty or designer vagina as it is chosen by women to beautify their vaginal area. It includes various methods such as wedge method, trim method, rim method, barbie look method, hybrid method, etc
This surgery can be performed alone or along with another process called vaginoplasty. This surgery alters the shape of the labia and its size. It is slowly becoming one of the most popular forms of vaginal surgery.
Why do women choose this process?
In women, the size of the labia may vary. They may face discomfort due to an enlarged labia, which can be caused due to pregnancy, hormonal effects and ageing. Women may feel self-conscious when wearing swimsuits as their labia may peek through their clothing. An elongated labia may cause pain while wearing tight clothing like yoga pants.
To relieve themselves from these daily struggles, women opt for this procedure. Labiaplasty corrects the size of the labia making it proper and improving its aesthetic beauty. The inner lips of the vagina, called the labia minora, can be shortened in this process by removing excess tissue from it.
Women who suffer from problems such as their inner vaginal lips hanging below their outer lips can fix it through the process. The surgical procedure has improved the mental well being of many women and made them happier.
It has also rapidly improved their sex lives.
How does it work?
The procedure is carried out through the following steps:
-
Before the surgery, you have to sign a form of consent that specifies that you are aware of the complications that are involved with the procedure.
-
The surgery may be performed under local anaesthesia. It will be discussed with you beforehand.
-
Before the operation, the doctor will clean and drape the area to be operated to keep it free from infections. There are two techniques – the trip method and the wedge method. In the trim method, the excess tissue is removed by making a small incision along the length of the labia. In the wedge method, excess tissues are removed and then the wound is closed by a skin flap. Any extra folds of the clitoris are also reduced during the process.
-
After the procedures get over, the doctors will close the incisions by glue or stitches that are dissolvable.
-
It is a daycare procedure, most patients return home on the same day of the surgery. Some may have to stay in the hospital if they feel drowsy.
After the surgery, the patients should take proper rest for at least two weeks. During this time, they must not engage in sexual intercourse and avoid exercising.
