Anemia - How To Cure It?
Hi,
I am Dr. Mukta Rayate, Gynaecologist. I am practicing since 18 years. Today I will talk about anemia. It is a common problem in females. We found that more than 80% of females are suffering from anemia. If it is undiagnosd, it cannot be treated. Anemia is decrease in hemoglobin and red blood cells. It supplies the oxygen to each and every cell of the body. When hemoglobin is less, oxygen is not supplied properly. Hemoglobin should be more than 12. Anemia is divided into mild, moderate and severe. Severe anemia is defined as hemoglobin less than 6 grams. It leads into decrease in the oxygen level of the body. It can also lead into life-threatening complication. It can be treated and preventable. So, you should always get your hemoglobin checked once every year.
Anemia causes symptoms when it is in severe condition. Symptoms are fatigue, weakness, irritability. Females are more prone to anemia. It is because female loses blood at the time of periods. Also, if blood lose is heavy and long then chances of anemia is more. In pregnancy, females are more prone to anemia. At this time body needs more iron. Start taking iron-rich diet. Apple is a rich source of iron. Green leafy vegetables, jaggery, raisins, rajma are good. The Dr will prescribe you iron medications which help you to improve the hemoglobin within 1 month. Injectable iron medicines are also available.which helps in increasing hemoglobin within a week. Severe anemia has to be treated by blood transfusion. So, get your hemoglobin checked to prevent anemia and also cure the anemia.
Thank You.
