In both these tests, the cells are extracted from the cervix and the screening process is very simple. First, the patient is required to lie on a table and a speculum is put in to use to open the vagina. This way the doctor can get a clear view of the cervix and the upper
parts of the vagina.

Now, the cells are removed from the cervix with the help of a brush or different other equipment which the doctor may use. After, the cells have been extracted they are kept in a special liquid to preserve them. Now the cells will be tested and checked for any kind of negative signs.
