This will appear every time the cheeks are stretched when a person is speaking animatedly or smiling and laughing. In this procedure, the cosmetic surgeon will try and create an adhesion between the skin and cheek muscles. This incision or scar tissue will then heal, and the indentation will become a permanent feature on the face of the patient. This procedure is created with the help of anesthesia and absorbable sutures that are applied to the area.
2. Side effects: After the procedure, you may experience some amount of bruising and redness, which will recede within a matter of a few days. The stitches applied to the area will also dissolve in a few days. One will need to stay away from too much of physical strain and exercise after the procedure. You can also use an ice pack over the bruised area to soothe it. If the bruising and other side effects do not go away within a week or so, or if the pain increases, then you will have to report the same to the cosmetic surgeon.
