The herbal holi colors made up of flower extracts are more eco-friendly, pleasant and doesn’t cause much trouble to skin and eyes.

Harsh chemicals like copper sulfate, mercury sulphite, chromium iodide and aluminium bromide are used to prepare synthetic holi color powder. All of these compounds are not safe and cause eye allergies, skin cancer, blindness and respiratory infections. These colors also include fine glass pieces that causes several other skin issues. Instead, herbal holi colors are made from natural extracts of fruits, leaves, flowers and barks.

They also smell amazing and do not cause suffocation. Dwellers preparing these natural colors mix maize flour or cornstarch powder to make it child friendly and biodegradable. So, a better way to celebrate this festival is to ditch toxic colors and go organic.
