How To Treat Red Swollen Fingers In Winters?
Many of us face the problem of red swollen fingers and toes in the cold season. It occurs primarily because the blood vessels in the distal part of your body get constricted when exposed to cold temperature. This results in the decreased blood supply of the tissue and ischemic injury and subsequently red swollen toes and fingers.
- Preventive measures are most important if you want to avoid having this problem.
- Avoid exposure of hands and feet to cold water as far as possible
- keep your hands and feet covered with gloves and wear double socks and shoes when moving outside in cold air.
- Sip in a cup of warm water every hour the whole day. Do follow this as this really works. It prevents excessive constriction of your blood vessels when exposed to cold.
- Wear proper clothing all over the body. It's not just the distal parts only, but the whole body needs to be protected from cold.
- Do warm water soaks daily at night.
Follow these measures and enjoy hassle-free winters.
If in spite of all these measures, you get troublesome swollen fingers and toes- then consult your dermatologist.
