Short term effects for the victim might include:
- Social Isolation.
- Disturbed sleep pattern.
- Drastic change in eating habits.
- Psychosomatic symptoms such as headaches, stomach pains, muscle aches and other physical complaints which have no proved medical basis.
- Symptoms of depression and anxiety.
- Low self-esteem.
Long-term effects of bullying might include:
- Disorders such as chronic depression, anxiety disorders and post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD).
- Poor performance in school and workplace.
- Poor general health.
- Substance abuse.
- Difficulty in trusting other people, establishing relationships and maintaining them.
