Impact of Diet on Acne
What type of diet may help acne and what could further worsen the condition
I am doctor RP Singh practicing at Twacha Clinic, Delhi, Saraswati Vihar. After retiring from the Army in 2012, I am practicing here for the last 15 years I would like to talk about the relation of diet and acne, that is called pimples. It is very common in the adult group of children and nowadays as the diet is changing fast, so the pimples are also increasing. Earlier the diet was thought to be not having much relation with the acne but l now proven that diet has a role in the formation and flaring of the acne.
There are other factors which causes acne is basically genetic and the topical applications. Plus diet also plays a major role. Among the diets the carbohydrate diet like the, which is there in the rice, which is there in the maida, there is in wheat. So whatever we are we are eating from these things in excessive quantity, if we take carbohydrate in excess quantity like we are using if you are taking lot of sugar, lot of cold drinks, ice creams and if you are taking the junk food like pizza, burger, momos, noodles, pasta, these are basically all refined carbohydrates and refined carbohydrate once taken causes sudden rise of sugar level in the blood to which the body releases a lot large quantity of insulin to control it and this insulin further causes the raise of the insulin dependent growth hormone which proceed the production of oil, excessive production of oil and formation of pimples and acne. So this is directly linked with high carbohydrate diet is direct link to the formation of acne.
