Like other organs in the body, kidneys are also prone to infections. These small bean-shaped body organs may stop working because of poor eating habits, unhealthy lifestyle, accumulation of wastes, surplus fluid in the body, etc. Problems in the working of kidneys can make an individual feel weak, lethargic, confused, and cause swelling.

Kidney sickness refers to problems and disorders, associated with the kidneys as well as their functioning. Although the symptoms of kidney sickness may greatly differ according to the type of condition, some of the common symptoms include:

  • Inflammation around the eyes

  • Loss of appetite

  • Tiredness

  • Irritation

  • Difficulty in sleeping

Some common kidney disorders include:

  • Pyelonephritis: This refers to the kidney pelvis infection because of accumulation of bacteria, making the person feel high temperature and back pain.

  • Kidney stones: Stone are formed in the kidneys because of minerals available in the urine. When these stones grow bigger, kidneys fail to drain the urine from the body. This causes pain on the sides of the stomach.

  • Nephrotic syndrome: Harm to the kidneys makes them leak huge quantities of protein into the patient's urine. These people will usually feel swelling in their legs.

  • Kidney failure: This will make the kidney stop working suddenly. It happens due to dehydration, an obstruction in the urinary zone, etc.

  • End-stage renal disease: This disease will make the kidneys lose their power completely, normally because of progressive constant kidney infection. People having this disease have to undergo routine dialysis for endurance.

  • Papillary necrosis: This disorder will create a brutal damage in the kidneys, which will result in the kidney tissue to break away inside and block the kidneys.

  • Diabetic nephropathy: This disease is mostly found in diabetics because of the elevated levels of their blood glucose. If not treated, it will harm the kidneys, and finally causing an unceasing kidney infection.

  • Hypertensive nephropathy: People having high blood pressure are more prone to this kidney disease.

  • Kidney cancer: This kidney infection commonly affects smokers and tobacco users. It is the most common cancer, damaging the kidney.
