Laser Hair Removal - Know More About It!
While they don’t pose any health risks, unwanted facial and body hair are embarrassing-especially for women.
The latest technique for getting rid of unwanted hair is laser hair reduction. During this procedure, a laser beam passes through the skin to the black roots of your hair. The root absorbs the laser, heats up and destroys the root thereby destroying the hair.
Safe technologies used for hair reduction -
Diode laser -
Diode laser with 810 nm is the gold standard for hair reduction. All lasers used at derma heal are u. S. Fda (united states food and drug administration) approved, to ensure better results in fewer sessions.
How the techology works?
The laser beam passes through the skin to the black hair roots. The black colour absorbs the laser light, heats up and thereby the hair roots get destroyed.
Pain factor -
One feels a slight discomfort when laser shots are given, there may be a warm sensation in some areas and pin-prick sensation in others where the hair is thick and coarse. Cooling the skin before and after laser shots, further makes the sessions more comfortable.
Sessions required -
Minimum 6 sessions are recommended for up to 80% hair reduction.
Possible side effects -
If the procedure is properly done, following the recommended guidelines, no adverse effects are experienced.
Precautions before and after the procedure -
- Hair removal: clients must stop waxing. Tweezing and chemical epilation 3 weeks prior to treatment.
- Exposure to sunlight: application of sunscreen (spf 25+) must be done to protect the treated area from direct sun exposure,
- Moisturize: moisturize your skin, as dry skin is more prone to irritation.
What to expect from the treatment?
- Reduction of hair growth
- Around 70-80% hair reduction is expected after 6-8 sessions. Every subsequent session results in delayed hair growth and reduced density of hair. Coarse hair turn fine and thin.
