Laser Hair Removal Procedure
Hi,
I am Dr. Navnit Haror, Dermatologist, DermaMiracle Skin & Hair Transplant, Delhi. Today I will talk about laser hair reduction. Laser hair reduction is the most common cosmetic procedure nowadays. Most of the people are seeking this treatment unlike conventional methods of hair reduction like waxing, tweezing. Laser hair reduction is almost a permanent solution to maintain a hairless body. Due to its permanency, it has become the most popular treatment among youngsters. We stand behind this as one of the best ways to achieve permanent hair reduction.
Laser hair reduction mein kayi types involved hain but for Asian skin, we usually select diode laser. Though we do have another laser which usually supports European and very fair skin. During the process, we try to reach the hair follicles. The heat of the laser reaches the hair follicles and damages it, thus, preventing future hair growth. With this, you can remove unwanted hair from your skin like the face, arms, bikini, and even whole body. This process needs to be done under the supervision of skilled Drs. Usually, it takes around 6-8 sittings to reduce the growth to about 80-90%. Laser equipment is adjusted according to the color, thickness, and area of the body. The patient and the Dr, both will be wearing eye protection while doing the laser.
First, we apply the gel to the skin so that the superficial surface of the skin is not at all heated. Then we proceed for the laser shots. After the procedure is completed, we apply the cooling gel over the skin to reduce the discomfort. It can be a temporary discomfort after the procedure like redness and swelling. But it usually lasts for a few hours. Then the skin goes absolutely normal. And you schedule your next appointment with the Dr, after 4-6 weeks of the previous session or as soon as you see the growth. The important thing to keep in mind is that you cannot go for threading, waxing after the session and in between the session.
