Minimally Invasive Surgery In Gynaecology

I am doctor Uddhavraj Dudhedia. I am a gynecologic, endoscopic, robotic oncosurgeon. Gynaecology has specialised into a lot of superb specialities and right from the beginning my area of interest was minimally invasive surgery, so many women who suffer from different problems of the uterus like heavy bleeding, painful bleeding, diagnosed fibroids, endometriosis also finding it difficult to conceive, urinary problems. Another area which is very important is urinary problems like stress urinary incontinence in women, some women have leakage of urine, poor control and this can be very easily treated by small minimally invasive procedures and the results are very good and they have complete remission from the problem.

Another aspect which is evolving is laser and cosmetic surgery in the vaginal cosmetology and vaginal rejuvenation surgery. I have a special interest in this and I perform a lot of vaginal rejuvenation procedures by laser and also minimally invasive techniques.

Robotics has offered a great advantage in treating gynaecological cancers especially endometrial cancer. The latest generation of robot is Xi da Vinci generation for offering these services to the patients in best possible way in a very reasonable and attractive packages we made for these patients to help them seek the best modality to treat their condition and go home very early from the hospital, decreasing the hospitalization duration and the chance of infection, increasing safety of the procedure.

However, I employ the laparoscopic method for many other surgeries like performing the hysterectomy, removing the uterus for benign conditions, treating patients for infertility who find it difficult to conceive because of tubal blocks and endometriosis and other problems like intracavitary growths which can be treated very well by hysteroscopy. Congenital anomalies in women can also be treated by this method.

Another discipline which I have a special interest in, I am expanding the arena of the speciality is neuropelveology. I am specially trained and I am proud to say that I was one of the first 1 from this subcontinent to be exposed to the speciality in its earlier phase and now we are performing surgeries for the ailments of the pelvic nerves, where patients have symptoms ranging from pelvic pain, chronic pelvic pain, sciatica, pudendal neuralgia, painful intercourse, this can be very well treated by exposing the nerves and excising the lesion in a very safe way by protecting the nerves.
