Quitting smoking? a long term effort. 1. Even if you have decided to quit and stopped smoking, unexpected temptation will lure you back. You have to be firm, resolute and resist temptation. Keep recollecting health hazards and be determined. 2. The day you stop smoking, throw away balance cigarettes, ash trays and keep away from smoking friends for some time. 3. Drink lots of water to flush out nicotine and other toxins. 4. When ever you feel urge, have deep breathing exercise to release your tense feeling. 5. The urge gradually recedes and divert attention to other activities. 6. When you have strong urge remember evils of smoking. Chew gum or cinnamon piece. Don't get into a new habit.
7. Seek support of your family and friends. You win over your temptation. Good luck!
