Realistic Vs Unrealistic Success Rates - Overestimation !!
Dr. Richa SharmaIVF Specialist • 22 Years Exp.MD - Obstetrtics & Gynaecology, MBBS, FNB Reproductive Medicine, MRCOG
Realistic vs unrealistic success rates - overestimation!
IVF is a high-end treatment modality in art but it has limited success and impacted by various factors
Unrealistic expectations do result in greater disappointments which may lead patients to drop out of treatment for the next cycle
When overestimation doesn't match the reality and facts then that is another factor to add to the stress
So what's needed is to disclose an individual's predicted success rate rather than a clinic's average success rate which helps to set realistic expectations
It's a difficult task but definitely keep one clearly informed.
For this other lab and clinic, parameters need to be as per good practices guidelines!
In case you have a concern or query you can always consult a specialist & get answers to your questions!
