Ageing Gracefully -
Aging or Senescence is a natural process of life. All of us want to age gracefully. We fear the changes age will bring on to our appearance. Skin starts to lose its glow, elasticity and may develop an uneven skin-tone. Dark spots, fine lines, wrinkles and sagging begin to make their appearance.
SKIN CARE BEGUN EARLY CAN TAKE YOU GRACEFULLY INTO OLD AGE.
In skin care, consistency is the key and not the cost
Start early in life to delay the rate at which we age and have healthy glowing skin in our older years too.
- Moisturise: A good moisturiser goes a long way in reducing fine lines, wrinkles and skin do not look dehydrated and dull. A Hydrated skin reflects light well and skin glows with health.
- Sunscreen: Always use a broad-spectrum sunscreen (protecting against UVA and UV) to prevent photo-aging (i.e. aging due to sun exposure). A photo aged skin looks dull and sallow with fine lines, wrinkles, pigmentation and textual changes. Regular usage of sunscreen will make you realize its benefits
- Creams: Having Vitamin A, Vitamin C, hyaluronic acid and Retinol based creams are the backbones of anti-aging skincare. Retinol boosts collagen formation and cellular turnover and helps to turn back the clock. Hyaluronic acid is a natural content in our skin. Creams containing Hyaluronic acid replenish and plump up our skin and makes it look youthful
- Diet: What goes INTO ones’ body is very important. Foods which are to be avoided or consumed very less are …….. sugar and salt.
- Sugar produces glycation end products which are aging accelerators.
- Salt causes the skin to be puffy and look dull.
- Avoid smoking, alcohol - all aging accelerators.
- Foods rich in vitamin A, vitamin C, lycopene are to be consumed.
- Avoid packaged foods / sugary colas
- Have plenty of seasonal fresh fruits and vegetables
