Smoking is the number one risk factor for lung cancer. Not only harmful for you but also for your loved ones inhaling second-hand smoke. 
If you quit smoking, even after smoking for many years, you can significantly reduce your chances of developing lung cancer.
There are strategies for quitting smoking, such as counseling and nicotine replacement products, etc. Best way to reduce your risk is to stop smoking completely and it's never too late to stop!
