Certain experiences in a young woman’s life can be life-altering. “First time for” everyone is different, one can be nervous or excited or even scared. One of the most important things is to be prepared for sex and ensure you take precautions as this will help prevent unwanted pregnancies and STDs.

Losing your virginity may not exactly replicate what you think about it
You think you can only lose your virginity and get infections while having sexual intercourse! It’s absolutely wrong. Riding a cycle can make you lose it while you can get STDs (sexually transmitted diseases) while enjoying oral sex. Any time you are intimate with someone, it will have an impact on you and there is nothing so special about that one act. Losing your virginity is a progression of the entire act and thinking about it this way can help you shed the awkward feelings that accompany sex.

You are not going to bleed when you lose it
The hymen is the most commonly misunderstood part of the woman’s sexual aspect. If you think it is something that seals off your vagina, then you are completely wrong. It is a thin stretch of skin that is placed inside the vaginal opening. It may stretch or even tear while riding a bike or working out or just by being an active human being. It is just a part of your body and it has nothing to do with whether you have had sex before or not. Even if you lose it while having your first intercourse, don’t think that it will drench your bed in your blood.

Sex may hurt a bit
If it is your first time, you will need a good amount of lubrication and foreplay. It will help the guy to get his erection while preparing the woman’s body for the insertion. If there is lack of proper lubrication, it may hurt to a great extent. The nerves can interfere with the process of arousal and therefore, ample time must be given to prepare the bodies for the act.

Talking to an expert can be a good idea
Though you may feel awkward, there is a thing referred to as patients’ confidentiality which means that no matter what you share with your doctor, it remains within the confines of the four walls of the examination hall. If you are planning to get started, you will want to speak to an expert who can educate you about the dos and don’ts of the intense experience.

Sex is a highly individualized experience and therefore what may suit others may not be right for you. Thus, having a word with an expert can be worth it before you lose virginity.

In case you have a concern or query you can always consult an expert & get answers to your questions!
